Did you know? If you are descendants of natives of
Germany, you are entitled to German citizenship and to a European passport.
A European passport enables you to live, study and work anywhere in
Europe! In
Israel you can hold a double citizenship (Israeli and German). You don’t have
to move to
Europe, and you don’t have to speak German. German citizenship is not
automatically extended to spouses, but they are entitled to residence and work
permits if you move to
Europe (this applies to same-sex partners as well).
Our office helps and accompanies you throughout the
citizenship acquisition process, including searching for relevant documents in
archives worldwide, building your family tree with the help of your older
relatives, translating the required documents and obtaining certification as
required by a lawyer and notary public, and submitting the documents to the
authorities. The office is managed by genealogy experts who have themselves gone through the German citizenship acquisition
process, and it employs many investigators and experts worldwide for the
purpose of locating the relevant documents.
The translations and notarized certifications are handled by a lawyer
and notary public (a lawyer who is registered
at the German embassy in
Israel).
